March 2014 Blog

March has always been one of my favourite months due to a few reasons. One of them being it is my birthday and yes, I still care about my birthday. Many of my friends say the older they are getting the less they care but no not me. I never make a big deal out my birthday I just like that one day of the year where I can do whatever I want (within reason of course!). I also love March, as it is the start of spring, which means the sunshine starts to come out again and new season trends are released. I absolutely adore this weather, as it is the beginning of ditching the millions of layers having to be worn in the winter and allowing brighter pieces back into our wardrobes.
I predict floral prints will be huge this year and why not? They are just a divine print that I find really versatile as they can be worn with pretty much everything. When spring hits I feel it is really important to wear transitional pieces that allow you to still layer up if it does get a bit chilly but can also wear on its own when the sun is out. My absolute favourite piece has to be this floral print playsuit.
This long sleeve floral playsuit ticks all the boxes for being a perfect transitional piece. It can be worn by itself with sandals or heels for a day or night look. It can also be layered up by wearing tights & boots if you are feeling a little cold. I am also a big fan of mixing feminine colours and prints with masculine materials such as leather. So a leather jacket with this playsuit would look just fab! Brittany Snow looks fantastic in her floral playsuit that she has teamed up with a wide leather waist belt; this really gives her outfit an edge.
This ever so popular playsuit has been flying out the shops due to its flattering shape, print and famous fan base. Stunning celebrities such as Sam Faiers from TOWIE and Michelle Keegan from Coronation Street are big fans as they have been spotted wearing the playsuit.

Michelle Keegan from ITV's Coronation Street showing off her amazing golden legs in the aqua Lavish Alice Floral Playsuit with her other half Mark Wright.
The daisy print will also be a big part of spring/summer fashion again this year. Last year was more focused on daisy-influenced pieces such as jewellery and hair accessories so I am excited to see what is to come this year. I love how this trend is a bold statement print but yet also quite feminine. Anyone can pull this look off; you just need to choose which daisy item is best for your body shape. For example, if you are top heavy then I would advise printed bottoms such as trousers, skirts or even a little jacket rather than a printed top. If you are bottom heavy then a printed top would be perfect for you. Here at Match we have had some new arrivals in the daisy print. Below is the beautiful Billie from TOWIE modelling the new Sugarhill Boutique daisy set. My particular favourite is the daisy print blazer as it is easy to wear and has crochet pockets!
This daisy top is bang on trend at the moment too with its ¾ length sleeves and lace back panelling. Absolutely great teamed with jeans or denim shorts.
Miranda Kerr knows exactly what is on trend and flaunts her amazing figure in a daisy print dress.
